PsySonics Sound Integration in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy:

A Qualitative Study Brief

Objective: To evaluate the qualitative impact of PsySonics' immersive sounds on therapeutic outcomes during psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT) sessions involving Ketamine, Psilocybin, and MDMA. The study aims to gather insights from clinicians regarding patient experiences with PsySonics' sound compared to traditional music playlists.

Duration: 3 months

Participants:

  • Clinicians: Licensed psychologists and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) actively practicing PAT.

  • Individuals: Patients undergoing PAT under the supervision of participating clinicians.

Methodology:

  1. Sound Access: Clinicians will receive complimentary access to PsySonics' sounds, specifically engineered for PAT sessions.

  2. Implementation: Clinicians will integrate PsySonics' sound into their therapy sessions with patients receiving Ketamine, Psilocybin, or MDMA treatments.

  3. Data Collection:

    • Clinician Observations: Post-session, clinicians will document their observations focusing on:

      • Patient emotional and psychological responses.

      • Comparisons between sessions using PsySonics' sound and those using traditional music playlists.

    • Patient Feedback: Patients, if agreeable, will provide feedback through a brief, anonymous questionnaire regarding their experience with the sounds.

Data Privacy:

  • All participant information will remain anonymous.

  • No personal data will be collected, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with ethical standards.

Outcome Measures:

  • Qualitative assessments of the therapeutic environment facilitated by PsySonics' sound.

  • Clinician insights into patient engagement and therapeutic depth.

  • Patient-reported experiences and perceived benefits or challenges associated with the sounds.

Significance: This study seeks to enhance the understanding of how specialized sounds influence the efficacy of PAT. By gathering qualitative data from experienced clinicians and patients, PsySonics aims to refine its offerings to better support therapeutic processes and outcomes.
